Investment in the development of domestic industry will facilitate the production of a competitive national product and reduce Ukraine's dependence on products imported from other countries. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a visit to SE Shepetivka Repair Plant in Khmelnytsky region.

The Head of Government noted that Ukraine had become self-sufficient in production of military equipment.

If earlier the country was dependent on the import of components for military machinery and equipment, including from the aggressor country, joining the efforts of "Ukroboronprom", all enterprises of the concern, we could have achieved full integrated production in the defence sector, stressed the Prime Minister.

Therefore, thousands of people who work for the companies have jobs in Ukraine, wages, while the country has a national product as a result, said the Head of Government.

"The same applies to the entire industrial sector which is in focus for us in order to manufacture a national product with high degree of localization. It is vital to remain in Ukraine wages and to manufacture all the components for any equipment, hardware, whether it is light industry, mechanical engineering or other direction," urged Volodymyr Groysman.

"It is our objective to invest in the development of national industry, development of the competitive national product and to abandon reliance on other countries for the supply of certain spare parts for various productions," said the Prime Minister.

The Government is working to encourage industrial production and the creation of jobs, stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

Among the examples of the Government’s measures he called loading enterprises operating in railway sector with orders, launch of highway construction activities.

Through the budget support mechanism there were taken measures to foster mechanic engineering for agricultural purposes. Also, there was planned support for the agricultural producers aimed to increase production volumes of processed products.

"With regard to production support, on our part we have already taken certain steps, and we will prolong our activity in this direction to ensure more workplaces created in Ukraine where they pay white and high wages, it is essential," stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

"My deepest conviction is Ukraine must develop domestic industrial production," urged the Prime Minister.

The Head of Government on working visit to Khmelnitsky region got familiarized with the work of SE Shepetivka Repair Plant. SE Shepetivka Repair Plant (Khmelnytsky region) specializes in repair, renewal, modernization and maintenance of rocket and artillery weapons etc.
