“Given that 2017 is the year of the Navy of Ukraine, reconstruction of the fleet should be a priority for General Staff and Reforms Committee”, General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak announced during a meeting of the Reforms Committee of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding the assigned tasks.

He spoke about development of the Presidential Decree on terms of execution of some activities of the Strategic Bulletin for 2017 by March 1, 2017; achievement of NATO criteria conformity by 40% of structural units of the General Staff, completion of formation of Special Operations Forces, establishment of a single medical supply management body at a strategic level, launching Single State Register of Reservists, optimization of structure of wages, etc.

He also announced that in March-April after the meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defence there will be taken decisions on enhancement of military education system, combat readiness of troops (forces), new and modernized equipment supplies to the Ukrainian army.
