Determining of conditions for the standard connection to the power grid by business entities will allow us to overcome corruption of local electricity providers. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said during his visit of Khmelnytsky NPP separated subdivision of NNEGC “Energoatom”.

The next week the National Regulatory Commission for Energy and Utilities (NRCEU) will announce an important decision developed jointly with the Government, said the Prime Minister.

"The National Commission will take action about the standard connection to electricity. From now on there won’t remain a place in Ukraine in which an official, an employee of any electricity providing company can fix at his sole discretion the price per 1 kW/h of electricity. We consider it one more significant step towards the development of economy and entrepreneurship in Ukraine," stressed the Head of Government.

According to Volodymyr Groysman, the process of connection to power grids today is the source of misconduct and corruption: "When an entrepreneur is building a factory, comes to electricity supplying company to get connection to the grid and the latter fixes exorbitant and not clear how calculated bills".

Moreover, the schemes are used when such power providing companies "for kickbacks" connect enterprises to electricity failing to meet the required technical conditions, as businessmen complain.

This problem must be thoroughly examined, and officials accused of bribery should be prosecuted, urged the Head of Government.
