Lower electricity prices to industries will contribute to the development of enterprises and their competitiveness improvement, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in his communication with media people during a visit to a separate subdivision Khmelnytska NPP of NNEGC "Energoatom".

"Measures introduced by the National Commission [National Regulatory Commission for Energy and Utilities - NRCEU] on the reduction of electricity prices for industries in different territories – depending on the region, somewhere by 3%, in some territories by 15%, are absolutely correct. This provides the opportunity to make Ukrainian products more competitive. It means jobs, it means Ukrainian product," stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

The Prime Minister noted that there would be two waves of reduction in price starting 1 January and 1 April affecting industrial production facilities. The downturn will make up 5-15% basing on the volumes of production and electricity consumption performance in each particular region.

Price drop said the Head of Government would be more tangible for industrial regions as they are electricity intensive consumers.

"We must put more focus on the development and competitiveness of our domestic industry, and a component of electric energy pricing is extremely important," highlighted Volodymyr Groysman.
