The Government is taking steps to
revive economic growth that will entail positive changes in the country for 2-5
years. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced during a meeting
with journalists in Chernihiv.
"Our task is to find each possible reserve to fill the State budget and to give money to the people. Definitely, to invest in high quality roads, our energy independence, and many other fields. We need to ensure at least a minimum level for the people to have normal incomes and quality of life", said Volodymyr Groysman.
When the new Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine assumed office it determined the recovery of economic growth as its top priority, reminded the Prime Minister. However, he noted that the Government is taking steps to improve welfare of Ukrainian citizens.
Therefore,
it doubled the minimum wage, that has started to be
paid throughout the country. Another achievement is an increase in wages for
some professions, particularly for physicians and rescuers. Growth of
teachers’ salaries made up 50%. The real sector of economy has sufficient
funds for such increase in wages, assured Volodymyr Groysman. “Higher
salaries for Ukrainian citizens are on the agenda for us today. Jobs and
higher wages", accentuated the Prime Minister. In the
context of economic development, he cited an example of overcoming by Government
corruption in the oil and gas sector, which allowed during 2016 to boost
production of Ukrainian gas up to about 100 million cubic meters of gas. In
2017, it is expected growth of production volumes by no less than 500 million
cubic meters of gas. "In
2-3-4-5 years you will witness positive changes in the country. I see this
path and believe that it is absolutely real. Of course, we will be hampered from
outside and most probably from within the country. But one will achieve a
goal if he marches ahead. I'm going to advance towards success of Ukraine and
Ukrainian citizens. When people feel changes in their own lives, then we can
say that we have brought about these positive changes", stressed the
Head of Government. |
