Due to transformations in its activities the customs service demonstrates overfulfilment of the planned revenues by UAH 1.5-2 billion or even more. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during A Question Time at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

"Since August we have managed to bring in change for the better in the work of the Ukrainian customs. Every month we have overachievement of target plus UAH 1.5-2 or even more," said the Head of Government.

He noted that dozens billions hryvnias were now ‘in the shadow’. Due to the adopted amendments to the tax legislation, these funds will be withdrawn ‘from the shadows’, so we will make these work for the state budget and the country, stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

The Prime Minister accentuated that the Ukrainian customs service is entwined with corruption. According to him, it requires further systemic changes - half-measures won’t be effective.

Volodymyr Groysman noted that the Government had accumulated resources for technical upgrades and changes in the customs service system.

He also reminded that the Government will set up a working group together with MP’s of Ukraine to reform the Ukrainian customs.
