Ukraine's MoD to implement Logistics Information System

Chief of Logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General Ivan Havrylyuk stated it during a briefing at the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. According to him, in the framework of the Multinational Joint Coordination Centre for Military Cooperation and Defence Reform supported by the USA, a Program of implementation of solutions on formation of Logistics Information System (LIS) was initiated. “This project is based on the use of SAP software, its configuration in favour of the Ukrainian military, procurement and development of necessary infrastructure. The implementation of the system will be financed under the US assistance program,” General Havrylyuk said. According to him, Black Box Company is the main contractor. During the first phase the system will be deployed at the level of the General Staff, during the second phase – defined military units will be connected to the logistics information system and LIS users will undergo special training. The works are expected to be most likely launched in March or April 2017.
