The Government is working hard to launch
a fair pension system and will trigger it as soon as sufficient resources from
economic growth are obtained. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said
during A Question Time at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Friday.
"All together we must elaborate solutions that will enable people to obtain the normal minimum pension and the average pension. We are now vigorously working on this issue. This requires additional resources. Once we have at least one percent of funds to bring in change in this system and make it fair, we will do it with your support", said the Prime Minister.
The Head of Government noted the need for a balanced approach to changes in the pension system of the country, which, according to him, had laid the basis for the extreme poverty of Ukrainian pensioners.
The Prime Minister reminded that from December 1 social standards would be increased by 10%. This improvement is the result of a growing trend in the economy.
"Every day each Ukrainian citizen, each Ukrainian businessman do their work with diligence and this work entails the growth of the economy. Therefore, we ought to avoid hampering them, but we must help them, must adopt laws allowing them to earn and make our country richer," said Volodymyr Groysman.
