Today,
there took place a meeting of Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion with representatives of the World Bank.
Participants of the meeting were World Bank Country Director for Belarus,
Moldova and Ukraine Satu Kahkonen,
World Bank Energy Sector Manager for Europe and Central Asia Ranjit Lamech, portfolio Manager
the World Bank in Ukraine Klavdia Maksymenko
and others.
During the event the parties discussed the issues of
functioning and reforming of the energy sector of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Kistion informed the World Bank mission
about the results of activities of the working group on acceleration of the
reform of Naftogaz of Ukraine restructuring. In particular, he noted that at
the previous meeting of the group there had been discussed and approved an
updated Unbundling Plan of PJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, agreed a blueprint of the Corporate
Governance Action Plan of the gas transmission system operator - Joint Stock Company Main Gas Pipelines
of Ukraine and the like. The Vice
Prime Minister stressed that
the establishment of the new GTS operator was planned for November this year.
The World Bank representatives thanked for the opportunity to receive current information on areas of concern and expressed readiness to prolong close cooperation on the implementation of objectives called to retrofit Ukraine's energy sector.
In turn, Volodymyr Kistion urged representatives of the World Bank to take an active part in the activities of the working group on acceleration of reforming of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
