Modernization of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia and the elimination the system that generated corruption at the company will bring it of crisis and to restore the glory of Ukrainian Railways. This statement was made by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during his working visit to the Darnytsia car-repair plant of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia in Kyiv on Thursday.

PM stressed that the state enterprise over the years of dishonest management got a lot of problems despite the fact that the company is a potential billionaire.

Today management of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia plans to carry out a number of actions for modernization of the enterprise. In particular, the construction of new railcars, repair of railcars, acquisition of new locomotives, repair and construction of passenger cars - "these are plans of large-scale modernization, which will allow Ukrainians to get a job," the Head of Government said.

So, according to him, the Darnytsia car-repair plant of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia starts its work on the construction of railcars. About 100 new railcars will be built this year. Not less than 800 railcars will be built and about 2 thousand railcars will be repaired next year.

In this context, the Prime Minister noted that Ukrainian railcars are competitive abroad and cost half the price.

The PM stressed that the measures, which are implemented in the Ukrzaliznytsia, in particular regarding the implementation of work in the electronic system of public procurement ProZorro, changes in the procurement of fuel, the automatic distribution of railcars in the country make it impossible to destroy the corruption in the company.

According to him, many corruption schemes have already been destroyed, but it is a matter of constant struggle. The old system in Ukrzaliznytsia is struggling to recover, but the Government will not allow it, said the Prime Minister.

He also met with staff of the Plant and congratulates them on Railroad Worker's Day.
