Major General Odd Egil Pederson, Deputy Chief of Staff for Military Partnerships, NATO Allied Commands Operations and Transformation, stated it during meeting with Vice Admiral Ihor Voronchenko, Ukraine’s Navy Commander.
The delegations discussed security situation in the Black Sea region, prospects of cooperation, including in Ukraine’s Navy reforms and possible NATO’s assistance.
According to General Pederson Ukraine is a reliable NATO’s partner and NATO will increase and develop its ongoing support for Ukraine.
“This meeting is very important as we demonstrate that the Alliance supports Ukraine in its defence reforms, reforms of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including Navy”, the NATO representative said.
Vice Admiral Ihor Voronchenko praised the efficiency of military cooperation, thanked the foreign colleagues, NATO for longstanding support for process of development of the Ukrainian Navy.
