Government to allot assistance worth UAH 500 million annually to complete construction of bridges across the Dnipro in Zaporizhia
In the framework of the working visit
to Zaporizhia region Prime Minister of Ukraine
Volodymyr Groysman announced to journalists the Government is ready to allocate
an annual state support to the tune of UAH 500 million UAH for the completion
of construction of bridge crossing across the Dnipro River
in Zaporizhia. "We can include this project into
the priority list and grant state support in the amount of UAH 500 million on
an annual basis to finalize it", said Volodymyr Groysman.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that the regional state administration, the regional council, the municipal council, the mayor will prolong "a good tradition" and co-finance completion of the construction of bridges. The local authorities possess the resource due to financial decentralization, he urged.
He said
that throughout three years it is possible to ensure technological, technical
and financial support and finalize the project, and promised full support of the
Government.
The Head of
the Government noted that discussions about the need to erect bridges across
the Dnipro river in Zaporizhia had been held for 10 years, but the object hadn’t
been constructed yet.
He explained
that after the "parliamentary lobby" had raised an issue of state
support for such construction, the Government had allotted over UAH 200 million
in order to unlock the process of financing the construction of bridges.
Moreover,
at the session of the Government there was unlocked customs clearance for metal
structures that had been blocked for three years, said the Prime Minister.
In the
framework of his working visit to Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia
regions, the Head of Government got acquainted with the construction of bridges
over the Dnipro to Khortytsia
island.
