  • Volodymyr Groysman: We must devolve sufficient authorities to local communities to ensure efficiency in solving problems

    Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stands for delegating the responsibilities and powers to local communities, thereby enabling them to find efficient solutions to urgent problems. The Head of Government said during the presentation with the EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn the e-opportunities and e-services provided by the local Council on the example of Vinnytsia city on Thursday.

    "Our task is to devolve the local communities sufficient responsibilities and authorities that will enable more effectively address the issues", said Volodymyr Groysman.

    "It is crucial to create such prerequisites that the communities and their role be enhanced, as before in Ukraine it was a side issue. The central government used to concentrate most of powers", he stressed.

    According to him, the practice of introduction of electronic tools and electronic services by local authorities of Vinnytsia and other cities that have such practices, is rather positive and should be spread throughout the entire Ukraine in different sectors.

    In the framework of the working visit to Vinnytsia region Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn got acquainted with the work of the Vinnytsia city administrative services center.
