On 13
September 2016 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Poland Mr. Witold
Waszczykowski started his working visit to Ukraine.
During the
meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo
Klimkin the two sides discussed the ways to enhance
dialogue between Kyiv and Warsaw. They also focused on cooperation between
Ukraine and Poland on the international arena and coordination of efforts on
settling the issues of common interest.
Minister Waszczykowski reiterated Poland’s commitment to support
Ukraine in countering the Russian aggression, implementing the internal reforms
and Ukraine’s European aspirations.
The two
ministers agreed on the necessity to avoid politicization of the issues related
to the common Ukrainian-Polish history. They also underlined the need to
reinforce the dialogue on historical issues between the experts on both sides,
including within the bilateral institutional mechanisms. In this context,
Ministers agreed to appoint shortly the co-chairs of the Ukrainian and Polish
