Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman expects the MPs will consolidate and engage in high quality dialogue to ensure completion of the draft State budget for 2017 and its timely adoption. The Head of the Government said on opening a Government meeting on Thursday.

"We must submit this budget to the Parliament in September. I wish we could build an effective dialogue in synergy with the Parliament," noted Volodymyr Groysman.

"I believe that the Ukrainian Parliament has a lot of MPs who are professionals with constructive approach and unite around the idea to draft an efficient law on the State budget and to approve it at the relevant time", he said.

The Prime Minister once again stressed that the Ukrainian Government would submit to the Parliament "a fair budget".

"A budget that is honest for two reasons: first, actual income, actual, and, second, open distribution of these revenues to satisfy the needs of the country and those of Ukrainian citizens", said Volodymyr Groysman.

In the draft State budget the Government has clearly defined top priority objectives, among which are: the national defense and security, economic growth, infrastructure development, preservation of power decentralization, support of farmers and the domestic engineering industry, the introduction of more active energy efficiency. Also among the key areas is education, particularly increasing teachers' salaries and the launch of positive transformations in the system.
