Hennadii Zubko: The purpose of the Energy Efficiency Fund isn't just compensation of the primary loan, but also providing technical solutions
Last year for the Warm Loan programme the Government allocated UAH 467 million of which was used UAH 343 million. This year we’ve allocated UAH 793 million, as of today approximately UAH 600 million have been spent. We additionally attracted 175 municipal programs.
This was stated by Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko in an interview with Radio Vesti.
According to Hennadii Zubko, the program will continue until the Energy Efficiency Fund operates in full. "The purpose of the Energy Efficiency Fund isn’t just compensation of the primary loan, but also providing technical solutions. It is important to ensure that the Fund is perceived as a service institution. It does not determine who must install particular equipment to whom. It provides access to databases of energy service companies that provide such services, auditors, technical solutions, which [databases- ed.] a condominium or single-family house can join", explained Hennadii Zubko.
He stressed that in this case not a government institution is funded but a particular person, who applied for participation in energy efficiency programs.
"We have demonstrated transparency of this warm credit programme, when the state official cannot influence the adoption of a decision: whether to grant the loan or not. The decision is taken by the bank", said the Vice Prime Minister.
