Currently
support of small and medium farms, investments in agrarian sector of Ukraine are
the essential possibilities for the production of high quality products. Taras Kutovyi, the Minister of
Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, informed during a meeting with Hans Joehr, Nestlé Head of Agriculture and the President
of SAI Platform.
Taras Kutovyi: «Ukrainian small and medium farmer has all
possibilities to become an attractive player for foreign partners. Due to this,
the support of small and medium farmers, investments in
agrarian sector of Ukraine, implementation of new technologies are the
general possibilities for the production of high quality products».
The
Minister told about general directions of reforms for the Ministry in the
agrarian sector. He stressed that the major vectors for development are: land
reforms, adoption of VAT special regime, support of small and medium-sized farms
and privatization.
Hans Joehr stressed from his side: «Our common goal is the
transferring of Ukrainian agrarian market to the new level. Because
market in Ukraine is very promising and powerful. Therefore, we intend
to work on the territory of Ukraine for a long time and continue to develop
business».
In the
framework of the meeting representatives of the Nestle company
told about “Hospodar+” project which has been
implemented since 2007 year in Ukraine. The project is aimed at development of
local suppliers of agricultural products, manufacturers of quality raw
materials and packing materials. The Minister noted that this program can be
successful in development of small and medium farms in Ukraine. This is the
general goal for the Ministry in the reforming of agrarian sector of Ukraine.
