On 13 July 2016, a broadcast of radio programs of the Donetsk regional directorship of NBCU "Voice of Donbass" on a frequency of 100,3 MHz was launched in Volnovakha of Donetsk region, and which allowed to expand broadcasting of the Ukrainian radio programs on this territory.

Additionally to the regional programs of the Donetsk branch radio of the National broadcasting company of Ukraine, it is also possible to hear the programs of "Public radio Kyiv-Donbas" ("Hromadske radio Kyiv-Donbas") and "Radio Liberty" ("Radio Svoboda").

The concept of the radio station was developed by the working group on the reintegration of Donbas under the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine with the participation of Donetsk and Luhansk journalists.

The "Voice of Donbas" radio station broadcasts around the clock. Since July 1 on its waves one can hear the latest news from different parts of the region.

"Note that from 1 July in Mariupol the broadcasting transmitter on a frequency of 67,34 MHz was activated, the same day the FM transmitter for a broadcast of the "Voice of Donbas" on a frequency of 88.0 MHz started its activity in Shchastya. We still need to install 3 transmitters to close all of our licenses. I am very grateful to NBCU and to other partners of this project," said Tetiana Popova, Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine.

The measures implemented to enhance information security of the state and neutralize the negative information influence on the population in the East of Ukraine. In general, 60 radio and television transmitters donated by the partners were installed.
