The Government is
working on setting up a road fund, carrying out decentralization of management
of the road network and ensuring repair that enables Ukraine to restore its
road facilities. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated this during participation in the events on
the occasion of Europe Day in Vinnytsia, on Saturday.
"The Cabinet
of Ministers is working in order to create a separate road fund within the
State Budget of Ukraine, which will accumulate resources," said Volodymyr Groysman, noting that a
relevant decision may be taken jointly with the Parliament in September.
In addition, the
Government will trust state local roads to regional state administrations. "We will decentralize the
management of Ukrainian roads. Kyiv will delegate authority in respect of the
management of state local roads to the local level, regional administrations
that will manage the process. Then we provide them with funds and resources. In
2-3 years you will see that the situation with road facilities
to be completely different and better," noted Volodymyr
Groysman.
