PM believes public, open privatization to enable Ukraine to overcome corruption and improve management of state-owned enterprises
Public, open
privatization will allow Ukraine to improve management of state-owned enterprises,
overcome corruption and encourage job creation. Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
stated this while participating in events on the occasion of Europe Day in Vinnytsia, on Saturday.
"Public and open
privatization will make it possible to overcome corruption, improve management
of enterprises in Ukraine and, above all, create tens of thousands of
additional jobs," he noted.
"All the
rest is populism and has no relation to the real economy, to the publicity, to
anti-corruption," said Volodymyr Groysman.
The Prime
Minister pointed out that delaying public, transparent and effective privatization
was caused by those directly involved in the corruption at state-owned
enterprises. According
to him, public privatization has always been criticized by those "involved
in the flows of state-owned enterprises", as it makes fighting corruption
possible.
The Prime
Minister reminded that the day before the Cabinet of Ministers appointed heads
of two state-owned enterprises JSC Ukrzaliznytsia and
Ukrposhta that were elected on a competitive basis. "We
will do our utmost to ensure that management of Ukrainian companies be professional
and transparent through appointments on a competitive basis," highlighted Volodymyr Groysman.
