  • Ukrainian and Turkish Defence Ministers agreed to develop cooperation

    General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, held talks with Mr. Ismet Yilmaz, the Minister of National Defence of Turkey.

    The Minister of Defence of Ukraine told about the current situation in Ukraine and in the east of Ukraine, about reforms within the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of Ukraine, and issues related to the bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey.

    Stepan Poltorak stressed the Strategic Defence Bulletin of Ukraine would be approved soon.

    “Cooperation between our countries is at a new practical level now due to the last visit of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to Turkey. We’ve agreed to increase the quantity and volumes of joint training, information and experience exchange,” Stepan Poltorak underlined.

    Mr. Ismet Yilmaz remarked, “Turkey would like to see peace in Ukraine. We support your reforms. Thank you that the Ukrainian army demonstrates courage while defending its territorial integrity.”

    Ukrainian and Turkish Defence Ministers proposed to develop the joint action plan on further defence, logistic, personnel training, defence industry cooperation.

    They agreed to sign the appropriate documents during their next meeting.
