PM believes update of training programs and educational institutions to improve quality of vocational education in Ukraine

Changing the system of vocational education and modernization of vocational training schools will improve the quality of vocational training and competitiveness of national education in general. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at a Government's session on Thursday.

"I see that there are vocational schools that provide a good level of education, but most of the equipment is outdated, technology is outdated while we are spending tens of billions on training young people. Not only are we spending money, but they are still uncompetitive and later must be retrained at work. Therefore, the issue of updating of training programs, upgrading of core funds is extremely important, emphasized Volodymyr Groysman. We need quality, professional technical education."

The Prime Minister stressed the need to review the efficiency of public spending and training. In particular, we need to completely upgrade vocational training schools, change their equipment and training program, noted the Prime Minister.

"It is necessary to invest in education. The quality of education is the largest investment to be done. Not diplomas, but the quality of education, professional skills. That's all we need to do. And I am an ally and supporter of Ukrainian education on this issue," he highlighted.

Volodymyr Groysman noted that today there is considerable competition of Ukrainian education with foreign universities.

In this regard, the Prime Minister urged to help develop a national education and support the Ministry of Education and Science in this direction.
