Arseniy Yatsenyuk: ProZorro e-procurement system to save at least UAH 5 bln of budget funds this year

"The transition of all public procurement to an electronic format will increase budget savings significantly. Even at a conservative estimate, this year’s budget savings will make up UAH 5 billion, while next year the economic effect from the full transition to the electronic system will be several times higher," Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk in the Ten minutes program on Sunday, January 17.

The Prime Minister noted that public procurement for many years was the largest source for corrupt schemes, "According to our estimates, losses from the direct corruption and poor management made up around 20% of the total volume of public procurement. And this is about UAH 50 billion annually. It's almost as much as budget expenses for the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
