”We have the only way - the way of unity, advancement and responsibility to
our country”, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a meeting of
the National Council of Reforms on Tuesday, 8 December.
He appealed to President
of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, noting his role “as a national arbitrator in the
negotiations and mediation regarding a new financial and fiscal policy of the
country. And I am convinced that with such approach we are not just capable to find
a compromise, but we will introduce new tax reform for a country, we will enact
additional incentives to create jobs and to pay taxes for the Ukrainian
business. And to ensure 2016 Budget to be well-balanced, as
well as to ensure all expenses, both for the national security and defense and
social spending. And we will have a chance to balance it to ensure the
budget meeting top standards of financial stability of Ukraine", said the
Head of Government.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
reminded that among the main messages in the speech of U.S. Vice-President Joe
Biden in the Ukrainian Parliament had been unity. "You are the foremost
having unrivalled political
experience in this country. And I want to assure you, Petro Olexiyovych,
that we have the only way, and I am you first supporter and ally, - the way of
unity, advancement and the way of responsibility towards our country", accentuated
the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
"This is a
country where we were born, we live in, and for which we are responsible as
political leaders of Ukraine elected by the people", added the Head of
Government.
"Demonstrating
our shared political will, feeling full responsibility towards the Ukrainian
people, we will succeed. We will adopt the Tax Code and the Budget. We will
make our country prosperous. And the next visit of the President of the United
States of America, or any other leader who are supporting us today will contain
the following message: "They have succeeded. The President have succeeded,
the Government has succeeded and, first of all, the people of Ukraine", said
Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
Regarding the tax
reform and the budget, he said, the Ministry of Finance developed a draft while
the Parliamentary Committee has theirs. He expressed confidence that given the
position of the President of Ukraine, "we will have only one
project". "The Government is ready to the complete compromise to have
an effective tax reform and a well-balanced budget," said the Prime
Minister of Ukraine.
He informed that
the Government had offered, following a number of consultations with MPs of
Ukraine, "to account for basic and key things that are vital to include in
the Tax Code, beginning with an issue of transparency in the reimbursement of
value added tax and ending with demilitarization and the elimination of the tax
police".
"These are major
policy decisions. And we appreciate the position of MPs and the Committee and are
committed to prolong this dialogue," he added.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
supported the proposal to introduce new tax rates from 1 January and to enact as
a whole the new redaction of the Tax Code from 1 April.
He urged to demonstrate
“by the end of year that we are capable to create overall success”.
