On Wednesday, November 4, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk held a meeting with a delegation of the European Parliament, who arrived in Kyiv to participate in the second meeting of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted the importance of the support rendered to Ukraine by the EU member states and stressed that Ukrainian society relies on overall assistance of members of the European Parliament in the issues of intensifying sanctions against the Russian Federation and introducing a visa-free travel of citizens of Ukraine in the EU.

The parties discussed the political situation in the country, the results of the local elections, in particular the assessment of international observers of the election campaign in certain regions of Ukraine. A MEP Anna Maria Corazza Bildt (Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats), Sweden) expressed support and evaluated the efforts of the Government in carrying out difficult economic reforms.

Co-chair of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee Andrej Plenković, a Croatian Member of the European Parliament noted that, despite the difficult political situation in Ukraine, all branches of government should demonstrate consistency in actions and promote stability in the implementation of the reforms vital for Ukraine's integration into the EU.
