Ukraine and Italy agree to intensify cooperation in agricultural sector
On Tuesday, October 27,
Kyiv became the venue to conclude a Memorandum on cooperation in agriculture between
the Ministry of Agrarian
Policy and Food
of Ukraine and Ministry of Agricultural,
Food and Forestry Policies of the Italian
Republic.
In particular,
during the VIII meeting of the Ukrainian-Italian council
for economic, industrial,
and finance cooperation,
the two sides agreed to promote cooperation in agriculture and expressed
interest in the search for new joint projects in the agrarian industry.
Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksii Pavlenko told about the current state of bilateral cooperation, trade in agricultural
products and implementation of pilot projects along certain directions, including Ukraine’s policy approximation towards the EU standards through the implementation of
the Small Business Act (in the framework of further
cooperation with the OECD). Another significant line is the study of the experience of Italy in
the formation and implementation of policies to support the economically active
rural population that wish to start their own business in the field
of rural tourism.
The parties
emphasized the potential to expand the presence of
Italian business in agrarian and industrial complex of Ukraine.
