On Monday,
October 12, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk received U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen,
Dick Durbin, Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren.
Prime Minister of
Ukraine expressed his appreciation to the representatives of the U.S. Congress of
the unanimous and steadfast support of Ukraine both in the protection of
independence and territorial integrity, and in the implementation of internal
reforms.
U.S. Senators
noted the significant progress demonstrating by the Government of the country
in the implementation of the urgent reform goals. Special attention during the
talks has been focused on issues related to deregulation, improving the
investment and business climate, ensuring the rule of law and combating corruption.
Moreover, the
participants discussed a range of issues related to countering the Russian aggression
and security situation in the region and across the world.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasised the security
challenges arising from constant aggressive political line of the Kremlin. He
stressed the importance of maintaining and strengthening solidarity between
Ukraine, the United States and the European Union to counter Russian
expansionism and protect the fundamental principles of civilized international
relations and values inherent to the free and democratic world.
