"Every Ukrainian fully feels respect and pride for our soldiers. The officers, privates – everyone who serves Ukraine should feel respect and desire to help from every manager and official," Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasised in "10 minutes" on the eve of the Day of Defender of Ukraine.

"I emphasize - not formally "assume its responsibilities"- but do their utmost to solve the problem," the Prime Minister underlined.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that the Government raised the salaries for the ATO participants, created the system of benefits for them, their families, the system of rehabilitation for those who returned from the combat zone, "A salary for the servicemen participating in the ATO has been increased by more than twice."

"Since the beginning of this year, the Armed Forces have received additional payments as compensation for the destroyed military equipment of the enemy, the successful performance of combat missions, as well as direct participation in hostilities," the Head of Government underlined, noting that such a benefit amounting over UAH70 million has already been received by more than 13,000 servicemen.

This year, the Government has also allocated funds for the purchase of more than 700 apartments for the ATO participants, the disabled and the families of the fallen soldiers. For these purposes has been allocated UAH300 million from the state budget.

"We have introduced a mechanism under which a soldier can get money from the budget and buy that apartment he wants. For this purpose we have allocated UAH354 million. UAH140 million has been allocated for increasing the amount of compensation for rental housing for servicemen," he stressed

Moreover, combatants are entitled to priority in receiving a land plot. As for today, according to the Prime Minister, most of them have been provided in Lviv, Volyn, in Vinnytsia and Chernihiv regions.

"We will do everything to ensure that they are battle-worthy and to secure the rear. The country is creating its army, but the army is also changing the country. Defenders of Ukraine become its elite. Their resilience and courage are strengthening the state," he stressed.

On behalf of the Government Arseniy Yatsenyuk thanked Ukrainian soldiers who defend our people, "Eternal honor to our heroes who died for Ukraine."

"I believe Ukraine will not just fight - she will gain her independence and statehood. We need peace, and we will fight for peace. We will fight for every piece of our land, for every Ukrainian, who is a hostage of Russian aggression in the occupied territories in Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea. The 21st century has restored the right of force. And for us -the power of truth," Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.
