"The process of pursuing difficult reforms in the country is
yielding results", said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk during
an extended meeting of the Government with participation of President of
Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
Volodymyr Groysman on Tuesday, September 8.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced that today the Cabinet’s meeting agenda would
contain issues of raising social standards, increasing of salaries, pensions,
other social benefits. This, according to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, "has become
the result of financial and economic stabilization, Ukraine could have achieved."
The second issue of the agenda, according to the Head of the Government,
is writing off the debt due to the successful negotiations conducted by the
Government and a governmental delegation headed by the Minister of Finance of
Ukraine. Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that he was talking about writing off approximately
US $ 4 billion of debt and an accord to postpone repayment of the prime loan
for 4 years.
"We will appeal to the Parliament with a call to support these bills
and a few dozen other bills designed to maintain economic and financial
stabilization, to introduce a visa-free regime, to curb corruption, to hold transparent
privatization of state-owned enterprises and ensure sustainable economic
growth", said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
"The fact that the President has decided to participate in the
meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine together with the Chairman of
the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, is a guarantee of our unity and the political
will of the country's leadership to pursue real reforms in the country,"
stressed the Prime Minister.
