"A new structure of a regional state administration must meet the challenges and needs the country is facing nowadays. It should coincide with the structure of the central government," stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk during an extended meeting of the Government with participation of heads of regional state administrations (RSA) on Wednesday, August 26.

The Head of Government reminded that a working group to elaborate a new RSA structure had been set up.

"The efficiency of each regional state administration should be as follows – quality instead of quantity. If you embarked on optimizing the RSA, the wage fund remains the same. And this provides you an opportunity to reward professional workers and hire those people who are really capable to implement changes and reforms in each of your areas," he stressed.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk added that on the results provided by the relevant working group, the Government will adopt a new directive to approve a model regulations on the structure of regional state administration, "which should take into account the objectives and challenges the country is facing in social and economic areas, taking into account energy sector reforms, the fight against corruption, reforms in the field of housing and communal services".
