Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Those who put into question the role of volunteers will find no approval either from society or authorities
On Friday, 7
July, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with the staff of special patrol police units
of the Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The Prime
Minister emphasized that the soldiers of volunteer battalions, who are part of
the patrol police, "decided to take up arms and go to defend the country without
mobilizing and subpoenas just according to a calling of their soul, heart as
well as responsibility to the state and all Ukrainians."
He
addressed the soldiers and pointed out that they showed by their example what
heroism and struggle for the state, for independence and every Ukrainian implied.
The PM
stressed that anyone who would endeavour to put into question their courage and decision
to defend the country, would find no approval either from the society or authorities.
He underlined that
over the last few decades none of the countries has been facing such challenges
as Ukraine: "West is maintaining Ukraine via sanctions, financial
assistance and training. But
the war waged by Russia is not only the war between Ukraine and Russia. It
is the war for the preservation of peace and order in Europe and across the
world. We
are defending European and global security."
"It happened
that Ukraine became the outpost of struggle against Russian aggression. And
it happened so that you took up arms in order to prevent Russian tanks and
Russian bandits from capturing the territory of Ukraine and reaching the
European borders," Arseniy Yatsenyuk
emphasized.
The Prime
Minister thanked the soldiers for being the first who decided to defend of the country
more than a year ago: "You were the first who took up arms and tens of
thousands followed you."
Arseniy Yatsenyuk together with Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov presented awards to the soldiers of special patrol police units of the Internal Affairs.
