Arseniy Yatsenyuk instructs Defense Minister to start estimation regarding transition to a classic professional army

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has instructed Defence Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak "to start estimation as to Ukraine's transition to a classic professional army and modeling of a new training system and a new system of Ukrainian military mobilization." The Head of Government stated this during his working visit to Kharkiv on Friday, 31 July.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that the Government had taken the path of "extremely professional enrolment of new police officers": "This means education, training, uniform, new approaches. That is the new policy."

"I deem that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine must follow the same way as the law enforcement agencies. The country also needs a professional and qualitative army," the Prime Minister underlined.
