Ukrainian Minister of Defence at NATO HQ: We expect the allies will prove their further support of Ukraine in realization of reforms
Stepan Poltorak, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, is on a visit in Brussels to participate in the NATO-Ukraine meetings at the level of ministers of defence.
The Minister has held the bilateral meeting with Minister of Defence of Austria Mr. Kevin Andrews. The parties have discussed the practical issues of further cooperation and increase of practical defence assistance provided by the Austrian party to Ukraine.
Minister of Defence of Ukraine stressed the importance of development of defence cooperation of both countries and thanked for practical assistance provided by the Austrian party.
Mr. Kevin Andrews expressed his satisfaction with the development of the Austrian-Ukrainian defence cooperation and pledged in further support of Ukraine in reforms and development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Despite the distance, we feel neighbourliness between our countries,” Mr. Kevin Andrews stressed. "We’ll support Ukraine in its reforming efforts; particularly, we’re ready to provide experts for training of the Ukrainian servicemen.
Then Stepan Poltorak met with the representatives of the mass media.
“The aim of our visit is to discuss the current issues of bilateral cooperation and cooperation in the framework of the NATO aimed at supporting Ukraine in the context of the RF aggression,” Ukraine’s Defence Minister announced. “Our primary task is to transform the defence in conformity with the NATO standards, and we expect the allies will prove their further support of Ukraine in realization of reforms.”
