Norway will issue a $26.3-million grant to Ukraine for general budget support. Ukraine Finance Minister Natalia Jaresko and Foreign Minister of Norway Børge Brende signed a supplement to the agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and Norway on the support to the State Budget of Ukraine (dated 18 November 2014), which will allow Ukraine to receive these grant funds.

The grant from the Government of Norway will be provided as part of a broader package of financial support for Ukraine by its bilateral and multilateral partners, which was "unlocked" through the launch of a new Extended Fund Facility credit program between Ukraine and the IMF (EFFIMF).

"Providing this support is further evidence that the world understands that Ukraine has been on the path of reforms and changes, and is steadily moving this way. And the support provided by our international partners gives us confidence and backs us in our development of a new Ukraine, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalia Jaresko said during the ceremony of signing the addendum to the agreement. This support from the Government of Norway will allow strengthening the financial stability of the State Budget of Ukraine."
