The Overseas Private Investment Corporation is ready to invest in projects in Ukraine. The budget per a project is up to 250 million US dollars, while the number of projects is not limited. It had been agreed at the meeting of Oleksii Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine with Kareem N. Saleh, Senior Advisor to OPIC's President in Washington.

“It is very important for us to strengthen and improve the efficiency of agriculture, in particular concerning the access to financing for small producers”, Oleksii Pavlenko said. OPIC helps U.S. companies in entering the markets of developing countries, mainly through loans and guarantees, political risk insurance and private equity funds.

OPIC invests in the areas of strengthening positive social and economic benefits, such as agriculture, education, access to financing, housing for the poor, financing of small and medium business, health care, renewable energy, water supply and sanitation.

“Almost all of the areas of OPIC activities are reflected in the agrarian sector of Ukraine and rural development in Ukraine.

The projects concerning introduction of energy production from renewable sources are urgent. Ukraine can provide such installations with raw materials. We receive about 60 million tons of straw and corn stalks every year”, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European integration Vladyslava Rutytskaya said.
