PM: Government to speed up the terms of financing the purchase of armament

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has appealed to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine to urgently apply in the first and second quarter the funds intended for purchase of new equipment and weapons in the third and fourth quarters of 2015.

The Prime Minister said at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Wednesday, March 18.

"The lion's share of the overall sum should be funded in the first and second quarter," he emphasized.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed the need to "open advance payments for "Ukroboronprom". "We sign all contracts - they work in three shifts. Make them work," the Prime Minister called on Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak.

The Prime Minister also appealed with a commission to Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, "Just buy everything you can as soon as possible, pay for it, arm our military."

"The Ministry of Finance possesses the needed resource and we will conduct all additional payments under all the contracts. The state defence order was approved, so, please, in the framework of the state defence order and without the delay conclude contracts and fund the full amount," commissioned Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
