Arseniy Yatsenyuk to attend Brussels with working visit March 19
March 19, Prime
Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk is scheduled to pay a working visit to
Brussels. In the framework of preparation for a meeting of the European Council
with the focus on the development of relations with Ukraine and counteraction
the Russian aggression, the Prime Minister will hold meetings with the leaders
of the European institutions and the leaders of a number of European countries.
In particular,
Arseniy Yatsenyuk shall meet with President of the European Council Donald Tusk
and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.
At the Government
meeting on Wednesday, March 18, the Prime Minister informed that during the scheduled
events he plans to convey the stance of Ukraine on further developments in the
east of the country. Another issue for the discussion will be the activities of
the Government of Ukraine on the way of change and reforms, "What is our
agenda, what is the total amount of financial assistance we have received and
what additional support we expect”.
"It is our joint
struggle for a free world and for a free Europe. Ukrainian troops today are
protecting not only Ukrainian citizens - Ukraine today is protecting European
borders and security and peace in the EU member countries. This is the way we
will follow together with our European and American partners supporting democracy,
European values, rights and freedoms of a person and citizen in Ukraine, Europe
and all around the world", urged Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
The visit’s agenda
also includes participation of the Prime Minister of Ukraine in the summit of
the European People's Party.
