The Government of Ukraine plans to
reduce the number of officials by 20% this
year. Prime Minister
of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed in
an interview with the program TSN. Tyzhden on 1 + 1channel on Sunday,
February 15.
The Prime Minister said that last
year 25 thousand officials had
been fired.
This year, according to him,
the Government also intends a
significant decrease in
the public service: "It is about a 20% reduction – up
to 50 thousand people."
"The idea is to reduce
the number, but to increase the quality," he
said.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized that, while reducing the number of officials, the payroll remains unchanged: "Anyone who works well, is able to work - will get more."
