Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk instructed the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn to convene a general shareholders meeting of the Ukrnafta company: "including on the change of management in the agenda". The Head of the Government said on Friday, 16 January, during an Hour of Questions to the Government at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed that the law on the reduction of quorum for holding the general meeting of a JSC passed by the Parliament does not apply to the Ukrnafta company.

The PM addressed to the Parliament to amend the law to settle the issue concerning the Ukrnafta company.

"The state will regain control over the Ukrnafta company. And on my instructions the shareholders' meeting was held two months ago, and on my instructions the profit of UAH 1.7 billion, which the Ukrnafta have to send to the State Budget, was distributed," Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

The Prime Minister addressed to MPs: "Even if you don't vote for changes to this bill, we will hold it, by the decision of the Government, like the previous shareholders' meeting. But, knowing the Ukrainian judicial system, I think we will have again two dozen court decisions, which we have today, concerning not only the Ukrnafta, but also other state-owned companies, which are offered to privatize on public competitions, but not to allow in the future to get money from these companies through corrupt schemes."

"The Government insists that the appropriate law to be passed. And the sooner the bill is signed, the faster we will restore control over the state subjects", A. Yatsenyuk said.
