The Ukrainian Government arrested the assets of the former regime worth
USD 1.3 billion, "And due to the approved yesterday law on distant proceedings
we are following the path of arrests of additional assets in possession of the
former regime," announced Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk on

Government and supported by the Parliament in the end of last year, envisages,
in particular, the reforms to combat corruption in the coal and energy sector,
"For the first time in the history of Ukraine we have removed 2 billion
dollars of subsidies, which used to be stolen from the coal industry. And a
significant portion of the funds was sent to cover the social needs and to finance
not only defence purposes, but education, hospitals, to finance the possibility
for the country at war and the country, which lost 20% of its economy, to live
and form the basis for further economic growth."
"If
our predictions prove correct and Ukraine will continue to follow the path of
economic and political reforms, and we will have appropriate support of our
Western partners - this will create preconditions for stabilization and
economic growth", said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
