Sergii Koretskyi: Government keeps business support high on its agenda
Despite the difficult state of public finances, supporting business remains one of the Government's priorities, Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi said at the Kyiv International Economic Forum.
"We need to get the most out of our limited resources to help entrepreneurs weather this period," the Head of Government said, setting out the immediate steps.
He said the Government is continuing the programmes that have proved their worth: '5-7-9%', Vlasna Sprava, grants for processing companies, and support for manufacturers, farmers, and exporters.
"We understand how much businesses depend on access to liquidity, and '5-7-9%' is one of our key support tools. Demand for interest rate compensation has been so high this year that we need UAH 22 billion, not the UAH 18 billion budgeted. We must find the extra UAH 4 billion. We are keeping these support tools in place and increasing their funding in the draft 2027 budget," said Sergii Koretskyi.
The Prime Minister added that the Government is also working on an insurance coverage fund. It would allow wider insurance against war risks and help businesses recover after Russian attacks. "Our international partners express readiness to back it, provided the state contributes. We are now agreeing the fund's model with business, and platforms like KIEF help us reach consensus faster. This is a tool we definitely need."
Sergii Koretskyi thanked the organisers for creating a space for frank dialogue between the Government and business, and thanked entrepreneurs and their teams for their daily hard work and resilience.
