Aivaras Abromavicius met with Geoffrey Pyatt
Deregulation is among
the priority activities of the Ministry that is capable to quickly provide a
positive effect for the development of entrepreneurship and the entire economy
of the country. This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade
of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius
during a meeting with U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt.
"As for the
economy, I am rather liberal. My goal is to maximally deregulate all processes
in the economy to enable the business to breathe. We are aware that the
business had certain difficulties, but now the Government is working on the
investment climate and the changes, which are required by the local and foreign
business," said Aivaras Abromavicius.
Apart from
deregulation, according to the Minister, the priority objectives have been
determined also a radical reform of the state enterprise management,
streamlining of the work of the Ministry he chairs, which, in the opinion of Aivaras Abromavicius must be
modern, open. It is the Ministry of Economic Development and
Trade of Ukraine which should form a general concept
of economic development, implement reforms, promote
exports and trade.
In turn, the U.S.
Ambassador emphasized that the United States had helped and were ready to
provide assistance to the Ukrainian Government on the way of reforms in the
future.
"We are ready to
cooperate with you and your Ministry. So I'm here today to get an understanding
of your priorities and lines of activity. To understand how we can help,"
said Geoffrey Pyatt.
