Unit 6 of Zaporizhia NPP is connected to power grid

On December 28, 2014, at 22:35 Kyiv time, unit 6 of the Zaporizhia NPP has been connected to the power grid after troubleshooting. The power ascension is in progress.

All 6 NPP’s units have been connected to the power grid.

The radiation background at the plant site and the buffer zone (territory around the NPP with a 2.5-km radius) is 8-12 micro Roentgen per hour, which corresponds to the natural radiation background at the the Zaporizhia NPP site.
