Unit 1 of Khmelnytsky NPP commissioned to the grid

23, at 4:54 Kyiv time, unit 1 of the Khmelnytsky NPP is commissioned to the grid after repair.
The radiation level at the industrial
site and in the surrounding area has not changed, corresponds to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed the natural background values.
Background information
The
Khmelnytsky NPP (KNPP) is located
in Khmelnytsk region in the city of Netishyn. The Khmelnytsky NPP has two power
units in operation with rated capacity (VVER-1000) with the total output of 2000 MW (commissioned in
1987 and 2004). The main purpose of the station is to cover the deficit of electric power in Western Ukraine.
