Hennadii Zubko: Eur 200 million of EIB loan funds will be directed to restore Donbas
In the next few days there
will be signed an Agreement between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank
for granting a loan worth Eur 200 million (about UAH 3.76
billion), which will be directed to restore the life support systems and
infrastructure of Donbas. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional
Development, Construction and Housing and Utilities Hennadii
Zubko in “The Time. Outcomes of the week" program
on Channel 5.
He also reminded that
for these purposes in November the Government allotted UAH 375 mln, with UAH 150 million out of this sum for the
restoration of Luhansk region and the rest of the funds - for Donetsk region.
Hennadii Zubko noted that monitoring
of the appropriate use of these funds must be carried by the communities that
reside in the areas with damaged infrastructure, social facilities and life
support systems.
“Each community has
to determine independently the objects that need the funds to be directed and
those to be restored in the first place,” the Vice Premier stressed. He added
the allotted funding must be applied with maximum efficiency to cover the needs
of people and residential areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
