Ostap Semerak considers Ukraine may be transformed into an Eastern European economic tiger

Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Ostap Semerak believes that in the coming years “in a few short years we will see Ukraine as an Eastern European economic tiger that will deserve a full-fledged membership in the European Union and NATO". He wrote in the American Center for a European Ukraine Bulletin.

In particular, the author noted that "Ukraine has a unique perspective from the point of view of the challenges of the new millennium": we are talking about unique agricultural capabilities of the country, as well as advanced technologies in the space and nuclear energy spheres.

The Minister also stressed that Ukraine needs serious help in the process of reforming both at the level of their implementation and the level of funding, " Provided that we get the assistance we need from our friends – a Marshall plan for Ukraine if you will – in a few short years we will see Ukraine as an Eastern European economic tiger,” Ostap Semerak emphasized. Moreover, he accentuated that despite the difficult situation in the East and the annexation of the Crimea, "There is no “Syrian scenario” in the center of Europe; no civil war in Ukraine and no reasons for it to break out”.
