Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Mykolayiv: The Government will help the regions to settle salary and pension arrears
"The government will help the regions to eliminate the arrears of wages and pensions," said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk during a visit to Mykolayiv armored plant in the framework of a working trip to Mykolayiv on Saturday, October 11.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed that throughout several months the state budget had lost UAH 3.7 billion of taxes from Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The debts for electricity and gas in these regions amount UAH 700 million: "But at this, the Government manages to pay pensions and salaries, no matter how hard it is under the current conditions."
"I would really like to make these pensions and salaries higher, but we pay what we have," he stressed.
The PM informed that there is information concerning minor debts in certain local budgets, "the economy is in the state of war, it's tied to it. If there are problems in Donetsk and Luhansk, these problems are echoed in Lviv, Kyiv, Mykolayiv”.
"The budgets now gaining insufficient revenues will receive assistance of the Government in order to eliminate all existing arrears,” said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
