Exports of foods to the EU increases by 14% over 7 months
For the recent 7
months the export of Ukrainian products to the European Union have made up USD
2 985.9 million, which is by 14% (or USD 367.5) more than over the same
period of 2013. The share of the EU in the total foreign trade with
agricultural products is 35.3%. In average, foreign trade between Ukraine and
the EU countries has upped by USD 124 million, while the surplus grew by 91.6% and
amounts to USD 1 278 million.
As to the foreign
trade turnover of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, for the 7 months of
2014 it has made up USD 13.3 billion or 20.5% of total foreign trade turnover
of Ukraine, the balance was positive and amounted to USD 5.3 billion. The most
important factors of surplus of agricultural products still remain the volumes
of grain crops (36.8%), oil (25%) and oilseeds (5.8%).
Over the same period
(January – July 2014) the export structure appears regular and makes up 32.1%
to the EU countries, 33.8% to the Asian countries, 17.7% to the CIS states, 14.4% - to the African countries.
It should be noted
that due to the political situation and the military aggression, as well as the
economic downturn in relations with the Russian Federation, the priority
markets for domestic food appear the EU countries, Middle East, North Africa
and East Asia.
