Situation at Ukrainian-Russian border
Situation
at the Ukrainian-Russian border remains to be tense. Border guard units
continue carrying out protection and defense of the state border of Ukraine and
tasks according to the ATO general plan.
The armed
clashes with sabotage and reconnaissance groups, and attempts of attacks on
border guard patrols happened at the border.

a.m. (14.08.14), near the border a group of Russian mercenaries made an armed
attack on border guard patrol, which served in the area of Pobeda settlement
(Donetsk region). Border guards opened fire in response and countered the
attack. The attackers retreated toward the border. There were no injuries.
At 04.00
a.m. (14.08.14), an armed confrontation has happened between border guard
patrol (10 soldieries) and subversive and recon group near “Uspenka”
border crossing point. Border guard patrol and reserve repelled the attack.
Terrorists
continue to use mines and fougasses. At 12.00
(13.08.14), gangsters blew up 2 fougasses while
moving of border guard convoy at the area of “Krasna Talivka” border crossing point (Luhansk
region). Also border guards detected a group of subversives with hand
mortars. Deadly force was opened against terrorists. Border guards did not
suffer losses.
The infringements of aerial space of Ukraine by aircrafts of Armed
Forces of Russian Federation was fixed during the day. At 11.40 a.m.
(13.08.14), border guard patrol of “Milove” border
crossing point (Luhansk region) fixed the flight of 2
Mi-24 to the territory of Ukraine and back.
