Some UAH 789 million disbursed for anti-drone protection of key logistics routes
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has disbursed UAH 789 million from the State Budget's reserve fund to install anti-drone protection along roads that are of key importance to the country's defence capability.
The funding will protect priority logistics routes amid the enemy's active use of strike and reconnaissance drones. These roads are used, among other things, for military logistics, evacuations, and the transport of humanitarian and medical supplies.
"Uninterrupted logistics is one of the basic conditions for the country's defence capability. The enemy is systematically using drones to strike infrastructure and transport, so we need to adapt the protection of critical routes to this threat. This decision allows us to direct resources specifically to those sections of road identified as priorities from a defence standpoint," said Vitalii Kindrativ, Deputy Minister of Economy and Environment of Ukraine.
Of the total amount, UAH 356.7 million will be transferred to the Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, with a further UAH 432.3 million allocated to regional military administrations.
This includes:
- UAH 172.6 million — Zaporizhzhia region
- UAH 105 million — Chernihiv region
- UAH 70.7 million — Dnipropetrovsk region
- UAH 60 million — Donetsk region
- UAH 24 million — Kherson region
The funds may be used for the operational maintenance of roads and/or the purchase of materials needed to install anti-drone protection. The list of priority works has been agreed with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Financing will be provided in 2026 from the State Budget's reserve fund. The use of reserve fund resources is necessary because these measures cannot be financed to the required extent through existing budget allocations, local budgets, or other sources.
